Playback Issues
Video and Audio Synch
If your video and audio seem to be out of synch and you're using one of the supported cameras check the following:
- Sometimes, audio synch issues can be caused by your computer's CPU being maxed out. IVT recommends that you close out of all unnecessary programs before working with IVT Studio to maximize the possibility of good audio/video synch.
- Logitech Cameras: Logitech Camera driver version 10.0.0 has a known bug where the camera will use 100% of your CPU. To test the settings on your system press Ctl+Alt+Del and choose the Performance tab. This will show you a graph and meter of your CPU's activity. Start Studio. Setup a project. If the CPU meter jumps to 100% and stays there when the video preview starts from your webcam you will need to the newest drivers from Logitech (v. 10.0.4 as of Dec. 4)
Video falling out of synch with the Powerpoint slides
Occasionally, due to dropped video frames etc, the video can get out of sync with the slide flips. This will be noticeable when you play back your presentation in Studio and the slide flips occur slightly before or after the time that they are expected to occur. Usually the slide flips will be synchronized for the first few slides but synchronization will get gradually worse for later slides. When this happens you can use the Adjust Slide Sync tool to improve synchronization. This tool can be accessed by going to the Tools | Adjust Slide Sync menu item. If your slide flips are lagging behind the video, adjust the sync in a positive direction. If your slide flips are outpacing the video, adjust the sync in a negative direction. Sync can be adjusted from -1 second up to 1 second. The slide flips you see during playback in Studio will exactly match the slide flips you see in a published presentation so there’s no need to publish after every skew adjustment. Simply check the changes using playback from within Studio. When you are satisfied with the synchronization you can then publish.
Audio Distortion
- Some hardware configurations have been known to have audio playback issues. If you find that the audio is garbled or distorted when you play a published presentation, check the following. If Studio is open while you're watching a presentation go to Capture-->Options-->Preview and uncheck "Enable Preview." This will turn the video preview off in Studio. Go back to your published presentation and resume playing. The audio should be clear. Note: The video preview may interfere with other applications that playback audio.
QuickTime Version Not Playing
Try reinstalling QuickTime. Especially after updating to IE7, you may need to restart the browser, the computer or reinstall QuickTime.
